BALTIMORE, MD (Dec. 20, 2016) – The U.S. Ski and Snowboard Association (USSA) announced today Zipline Ski’s expansion as an official U.S. Freestyle Ski Team supplier. U.S. Freestyle Ski Team members will now have the option to use the newly-released Zipline Podium Goggles in addition to a new version of Zipline Graphite Poles. The contract extends through 2020, including the 2018 Olympic Winter Games in PyeongChang.

Chuck Heidenreich, former U.S. Ski Team athlete and founder of Zipline, has created products based on his personal experience as a mogul skier and his 25 years in sports product development. The newest Zipline Podium pole (14.0 Kevlar Graphite Hybrid) is the first of its kind, specifically created with the added strength of Kevlar to perform in the demanding conditions put on it by World Cup athletes. Introduced in 2016 the Zipline Podium Goggles use a unique Magnetic Lens System (MLS).

“We are excited to extend our partnership with the U.S. Ski Team and expand our service by providing our top-of-the-line Zipline Podium goggles,” said Heidenreich. “In addition, after extensive testing with U.S. Freestyle Ski Team athletes, we are excited to introduce the very first Kevlar Graphite Hybrid freestyle pole which offers the added strength Kevlar to our ultralight construction.”

Several U.S. Freestyle Ski team athletes have chosen Zipline this season, including Ryan Dyer (Zipline Podium 14.0 Kevlar Poles, Podium CL Goggles), Abe Studler (Zipline Podium 14.0 Kevlar Poles, Podium CL Goggles ), K.C. Oakley (Zipline Podium 14.0 Poles), and Jaelin Kauf (Zipline Podium Goggles ). The team kicked off its World Cup competition season on Dec. 10 in Ruka, Finland.

“I would like to thank Zipline for to providing our athletes with the some of the finest poles and goggles in the industry,” stated Matt Gnoza, U.S. Freestyle Ski Team head mogul coach. “We are proud to welcome Zipline to the U.S. Freestyle Ski Team supplier pool and look forward to many years of working together.”
