A gymnast turned aerialist, Kira Tanghe is one of the young, up and coming jumpers on the national team. She performed on the NorAm circuit in 2016 with a string of five podiums in a row.

      FIRST TRACKS
Tanghe first learned to ski when she was two years old, but decided to focus her attention on gymnastics instead. The two sports merged for Tanghe in 2013 when she attended tryout camp for the USSA's Elite Aerial Development Program. She instantly fell in love with aerials and was named to the program.

      OFF THE SNOW
"I actually really like school," says Tanghe. "I love taking classes and learning how and why things work, which is why I especially enjoy science classes."
Tanghe also liked to spend time outside, go hiking  and explore the cities around her.
