BIOGRAPHY:
Jimmy Discoe has two older brothers and when he started skiing at five, he naturally followed their lead - straight into moguls. "I followed my oldest brother Jon's footsteps into competitive mogul skiing, competing at 10," he said. He's still building his repertoire, but already has some solid results to back it up. Discoe has dynamic turns and one-of-a-kind air maneuvers that indicate he can become a major player at the international level. All he needs to do is stay healthy. After injury limited his 2010 season, Discoe was back on the World Cup tour last season, working his way back into competition with three top-20 results.
JIMMY SAYS:
The past few seasons have been tough all ending with knee injuries, so this summer I took a little time off, got my body feeling good. Now it's time to turn up the training and get ready for the upcoming season. It takes a lot of will to push through three years of injuries in a row to come back and continue to chase your dreams. It's time to show everyone that I have what it takes to be the best in the world!
FIRST TRACKS:
Discoe puts it best: I pretty much always wanted to do what my older brother Jon wanted to do." And Jon was a mogul skier. He started chasing him at eight and joined the Telluride Ski Club to continue the quest.
OFF THE SNOW:
I like to play the guitar and sing for friends and family. I'm just beginning so I have lots to learn, but it’s pretty fulfilling to play a great song and have people enjoy it. I also recently started to make leather belts and bracelets. Leatherwork will be a good way to spend my free time and hopefully it can expand into something bigger.
