BIOGRAPHY:
A Maine native, Jeremy Cota's laid-back style may be what will take him all the way. Making sure not to take anything too seriously and keeping things in perspective, Cota already had some impressive wins under his belt coming into the U.S. Ski Team in the 2010 season. The 2009 NorAm champion, Jeremy has had some great experience with winning. He flawlessly carried that experience into his World Cup rookie season, landing in the top-10 in both of his first two competitions and tacking on two more World Cup top-15 results. Last season saw Cota’s trajectory take a steep tip upwards as he secured nine top 10 World Cup finishes, including his first two podiums. He just missed the medals in fourth place at the Deer Valley World Championships. His consistency earned him a fifth-place ranking in the 2011 World Cup overall standings and two second-place finishes at U.S. Championships.

JEREMY SAYS:
I had a terrific season and am definitely really happy about the way I skied. The highlight for me would have to be just getting the chance to be a part of the World Championship team and then being able to ski well at the event in front of many of my friends.

FIRST TRACKS:
A ski instructor at Big Squaw Mountain, a small mountain in Maine, Jeremy's mother is responsible for introducing him to the world of skiing. When he was about three or four years old, Jeremy put on his first skis and soon thereafter, began experimenting with alpine racing. He joined the Sugarloaf Freestyle Program when he was 12, and stuck with that, as it seemed like a much less serious style of skiing that worked well with his carefree personality. It was at Carrabassett Valley Academy in (Carrabassett, Maine), however, that really got him hooked to the sport. Attending CVA for five years, Cota worked on developing his strength and skills as a moguls skier.

OFF THE SNOW:
Off the snow Cota stays really active whether it’s mountain biking, playing tennis, or tubing down the river, he’ll do pretty much anything that involves being outside.
