BIOGRAPHY:
Vermonter Hannah Kearney keeps finding herself in the middle of success, the most distinguished of which was her nailing the coveted gold at the 2010 Olympic Winter Games in Vancouver. As a youth, high school state soccer and track team championships were followed by four Junior World Championship titles in moguls. When the multi-sport talent hit the World Cup fulltime, she won two competitions in her rookie season - one when she was just 17. A year later Kearney was the 2005 moguls World Champion. Last season she secured her first freestyle overall title, a second moguls crown and her third and fourth World Championships medals. As if all that wasn’t enough, she began her college career at Dartmouth in the spring of 2011.

HANNAH SAYS:
The highlight of my season was winning the overall freestyle globe. Consistency was my goal for the year, and the globe was a reflection of my execution of that goal. Next year I would like to successfully compete a new trick. I would also like to ski better than I did last year. I began my college career at Dartmouth College the day after my ski season ended in March. I will be attending school again in the fall to balance the athletic and academic parts of my life and broaden my horizons. College is part of my plan to become a better competitor.

FIRST TRACKS:
On skis at two, Kearney came up through the Ford Sayre program, and then moved to Nick Preston's Black and Blue Trail Smashers Team at Waterville Valley. She won the Eastern and Junior U.S. Championship moguls title in 2002 (and Eastern dual championship) plus the Junior World Championship moguls and duals gold medals, and repeated both titles at Junior Worlds in '03. "Hannah's always performed at the highest level, and it's continued with us. Look at her soccer - the quickness, the good balance, look at her moves and she can copy-cat that into what it takes to make a good mogul turn. There's a lot of cross-over," said former coach Don St. Pierre.

OFF THE SNOW:
Hannah enjoys hiking and biking as well as watching her brother's hockey games and dining with her friends and family. She is working on getting good at all of the things she will be doing for the rest of her life, such as cooking, baking, cleaning, organizing and mending.
