BIOGRAPHY
A bumper since the age of eight, Loweree came up through the Stratton Freestyle Team then moved to Colorado to pursue her competitive dreams. “I started competing shortly after my introduction to the freestyle team. Realizing my love for competition, I decided to go from weekend warrior to a winter term student at the Stratton Mountain School,” she says. “I moved to Steamboat after graduating high school, and have split my time between Colorado and Boston up until making the U.S. Team.”
Loweree’s rookie season on the World Cup tour confirmed that she had found her calling on the moguls course. In 13 starts, Loweree cracked the top-15 12 times including two top-10 finishes.
BRITTANY SAYS
The highlight of this season was competing on the full World Cup tour for the first time. Skiing at a higher level of competition, and having consistent results was exciting and fulfilling. I learned how to tackle different types of courses all over the world, and how to say “hello” and “thank you” in four new languages! I had fun exploring new countries with my teammates. I enjoy skiing foreign moguls courses and meeting athletes from around the globe.
For the 2013 season I am looking forward to gaining more experience on the World Cup tour. My goals are to build upon this past season and continue to improve my skiing and airs. Whether it is a pre-Olympic year or not, I aim to keep climbing in the standings each season.
FIRST TRACKS
As soon Loweree could walk, her parents put her on skis. She grew up skiing at Stratton Mountain, Vermont. When she was eight years old, a friend convinced her to come ski with the Stratton Freestyle Team for a day, and since then she hasn't looked back.
OFF THE SNOW
Loweree loves spending time at home on the beach with her family. She is also enjoys going back to school in Boston. “I really enjoy my time at Northeastern University,” says Loweree. “I love Boston and being able to hang out with all of my college friends. I also have a love for travel. Whenever possible I try to fit in a new destination around my training schedule. “
