BIOGRAPHY:
Running bumps is in the Wilson family blood, and Bradley couldn’t be happier to be a part of the clan. The younger brother of Olympic bronze medalist Bryon Wilson, Bradley and his big bro got their start building their own moguls courses in Butte, Montana. The competition doors then opened when Bradley (at age eight) and Bryon (at age 12) joined the Lost Trail Freestyle team. Now 19, Bradley made huge strides in the 2011 season, earning a second-place ranking in the NorAm standings with two victories. He closed the season strong by grazing the podium at the U.S. Championships with fourth (duals) and fifth-place (fifth) results.
BRADLEY SAYS:
I feel that I had a very successful season this past year yet there is a lot of room for improvement. My highlight, would definitely be qualifying for the U.S. Ski Team. I had a consistent year, which helped with both my confidence and standings. It is a huge accomplishment to be on the U.S. Ski Team. It has been a major goal ever since I started skiing freestyle. To be able to ski with the best skiers in the nation, just to be a part of that truly is amazing. My goal, for the next few years, is to train very hard, becoming the best that I can. Hopefully move my way up to the top.
FIRST TRACKS:
Wilson started skiing when he was four years old at Discover Basin, a small ski area in Montana. He also would ski on the boarder of Idaho and Montana at a ski area called Lost Trail. It was at Lost Trail where he started skiing freestyle. When he was eight and his brother was 12 they would follow the Lost Trail Freestyle Team around because they were the best skiers on the mountain and the duo wanted to be as good as they were. By the end of the day, they finally asked if the brothers wanted to join their team. They joined and by the next year they had started competing in Northern Division Freestyle.
OFF THE SNOW:
When the snow melts, Bradley loves spending time out in the sun. Staying active, waterskiing, fly fishing and training.
