BIOGRAPHY:
Squaw Valley Freestyle’s Ali Kariotis started dreaming of making the U.S. Ski Team at the age of 10. It then only took her six years to get there, thanks to a solid 2011 season (ranked fourth) on the NorAm tour that included one victory and a fourth-place finish at Junior World Championships in Finland.

ALI SAYS:
I felt great about my 2011 season. It felt excellent to finally accomplish my goal of making the U.S. Ski Team. The highlight of my season was the Val St. Come NorAm (win). I had been having a really challenging season up until that point but it was great to turn it around and win a NorAm. Making the U.S. Ski Team has been a goal of mine since I was 10 years old, and it feels great to finally reach it. I am honored and looking forward to representing the United States. My primary focus right now is learning new tricks. In the next two years I want to learn a back-full and a D-spin. My goal for next season is to win the NorAm Grand Prix and begin competing on the World Cup and try to grab a ticket to Russia.

FIRST TRACKS:
Ali began skiing when she was just eighteen months old at Squaw Valley in California. She went through the Mighty Mite program, which prepared her for introduction to freestyle competitions at age eight. She had always loved skiing bumps and when she began to compete, she knew it was the sport for her.

OFF THE SNOW:
Ali enjoys being on the ocean when she is not on snow. She spends her summers on Cape Cod where she goes to the beach, plays golf, tennis, water skis and wakeboards.
